Enter The Net

Sustainable Internet Marketing

Enter The Net loves to work with new businesses. There is always something exciting about attaching our name to cool new projects. Friends of Enter The Net, Stephanie and Noel recently launched a business making super-tasty, gluten free pastries. They make food-to-die-for-that-won’t-kill-you. That’s Viva La Gluten Free!

Like many Enter The Net projects, the owners of the site want to be able to log in and make changes to their site without having to know anything about “website code language” or any of that mubo-jumbo. Enter The Net customized a site based on the Wordpress system. The process involved picking a starting theme among the many available for free, then customizing it to the look desired by the site owners. You can see a link to the starting theme below – so you can compare it to the finished product.

Wordpress Sites from Enter The Net include the following benefits:

  • Wordpress is constantly updated to perform well on all platforms
  • You will be able to log in and easily make changes to your site
  • You can add a separate “blog” section to separate changing from permanent content on your site
  • There are several great options for displaying photos on your site
  • You will get the look and style you want on your site – we are not limited to the set themes.

Portland-based Neurofeedback specialist Darla Muelemans needed a new website she could easily update.

She contracted Enter The Net to design the site, transfer content from the existing site and train her in how to make changes to the new site.

The site was developed in a “folder” on the existing site so that both she and Enter The Net could make sure it was exactly as desired. When it was ready, Enter The Net simply replaced the old site with the new one.

vata-incVATA, Inc is a manufacturer and distributor of lifelike anatomical training models. The models are useful for nurses and other healthcare professionals.

VATA employed Enter The Net to optimize their large shopping cart site to perform on the search engines for a variety of non-localized key word combinations. This means that their desired search terms do not include words like “Portland Oregon” or ‘Seattle.” The desired key word combinations are therefore much more competitive.

Enter The Net’s optimization work coincided with a complete website re-design, engineered by Jesse at Small Stream Design.

Search Engine Optimization Results:
VATA identified a total of 360 desired key word combinations. These were divided into three groups for tracking. The first group is the most important: the Target Terms. The second group is the Product and Brand Name Terms. The third group is the Margin Terms. The Margin Terms are very general key words that we hope to pick up over time. They are extremely competitive.

  • Number of Top 20 Rankings Before Optimization:
    • Target Terms: 95
    • Product/Brand Terms: 86
    • Margin Terms: 8
  • Number of Top 20 Rankings 15 Days After Optimization:
    • Target Terms: 168 (increase of 73 rankings)
    • Product/Brand Terms: 94
    • Margin Terms: 14
  • Percent of site traffic from the Search Engines: 41.8%
  • Example:
    • Google: “infusion arm simulation.” See it.
    • Yahoo: “nursing skills training model.” See it.

The site is getting a lot more traffic than before, thank you!

2buengerMelony Buenger is a photographer specializing in weddings, seniors and portraits. She was a student of Enter The Net at the Small Business Development Center.

Together, we designed a website utilizing Wordpress. The end result is a site that nicely shows the breadth of Melony’s photographic talent. The site also contains pages that reinforce the products she offers, especially to High School Seniors. The site has an excellent Contact form that makes it easy for Buenger Photography to convert site visitors into actual leads.

Melony was also thoroughly trained in how to optimize her website on  a regular basis. As she enters new information to her site – especially recent photo shoots she wants to feature – each new post will be optimized for maximum performance on the search engines.

4primalPortland author Nora Gedgaudas recently penned an important book about the nexus between diet and mental health. A major portion of the marketing for the new book involves nourishing a community of like-minded supporters. One of the best ways to do this is to add a blog to the site which will be constantly updated with new, useful information.

Enter The Net was involved in this project on two main levels:

  1. The graphic design of the website was provided by Dee Lieber of Sol Identity. Enter The Net was hired to “code” the provided graphic design into a functional website.
  2. Enter The Net custom-designed the installed Wordpress Blog on the site. The goal was to create blog that was as nearly identical to the original web design as possible.

Let us know how we did!

5bioforceBioForce Baseball has been a client of Enter The Net for several years.

The owner of BioForce Baseball is an accomplished baseball coach offering a variety of services to aspiring major-leaguers. These services include training DVD’s, local clinics and a new video analysis option.

We designed the original site and provided a complete SEO package. Key words for the site range from the local (for the clinics) to the national (for the training DVD’s.)

BioForce Baseball has an extensive email list to which they send frequent baseball-related tips. Enter The Net was asked to install a blog to the existing site in order to provide an online source for the emailed tips. This allows the site’s owner to upload the tips as they are created, instead of relying on the web designer to hard-code each tip. It also enhances the search engine performance of the site by effortlessly providing a steady stream of new, optimized content to the site itself. It is important to note that the SEO benefits of this installed blog exist because the blog resides under the same domain name as the rest of the site.

  • Click HERE to see the main home page of BioForce Baseball.
  • Click HERE to see the installed blog and note it’s similarity to the main site design.

BioForce Baseball has experienced a 45% growth in Top 20 search engine rankings since employing Enter The Net to optimize the website. Many of these rankings come for terms that are extremely general and competitive.

  • Percent of site traffic from the Search Engines: 60.7%
