Google Calendar is a powerful system you can use to track personal and business appointments and events. It can be utilized to send invitations, handle RSVPs and it can be placed on your website but controlled remotely.

The Google Calendar workshop will take place on March 3, 2009 from 1-4 pm at the Small Business Development Center at Clackamas Community College. The cost is $30.

Learn how to maximize Google Calendar for your personal and business life. You can even have the calendar added to your website.

Workshop Description: Google Calendar is a high-powered, user friendly calendar system that is web-based (which means it can be accessed from virtually anywhere.) The calendar is also easy to embed in a website, making it a dynamic part of any site. Google Calendar is also compatible with Outlook, iCal and other popular calendar systems, making it a nice centralized point of origin for event management. This course includes 1.5 hours of classroom instruction and 1.5 hours of guided computer lab time.

Student Learning Outcomes: By the end of the workshop, you will be able to…
• Create a Google Calendar account
• Add, edit and delete events, including event settings like recurrence and end dates
• Integrate the calendar code into a website, or know how to instruct a web designer to do so
• Access public Google Calendars and build events
• Manage additional calendar users
• Utilize the Google Calendar to handle RSVP’s and other event management
• Apply Google Calendar skills to small business life
