iGoogle For Business @ SBDC February 3, 2009
iGoogle is Google’s master home page. It is loaded with features to help manage information and internet marketing. This workshop provides a hands-on introduction to using iGoogle, especially for small businesses.
The workshop will take place on February 3, 2009 from 1-4 pm at the Small Business Development Center at Clackamas Community College. The cost is $30.

Learn how to use Google’s vast tools, including Gmail, Google Maps, RSS Reader and much more. This course is perfect for web users from beginner to advanced who want to learn how to use tools that make the internet more useful.
Workshop Description: iGoogle is the name for Google’s highly-functional home page system. iGoogle is effective in organizing multiple information streams for small business use, including receiving site-based news or commentary feeds, utilizing maps and other industry-specific information streams. This course will also cover how to get a free local Google listing that is effective on the search engines. This course includes 1.5 hours of classroom instruction and 1.5 hours of guided computer lab time.
Student Learning Outcomes: By the end of the workshop, you will be able to…
• Create a Google Account
• Customize his or her iGoogle home page for design and function
• Implement iGoogle add-ons to increase functionality and information flow
• Set up Google Reader and subscribe to at least two different types of news feeds
• Create a local listing on Google maps
• Set up Google Alerts to receive emails alerts when Google indexes certain types of information
• Apply new functionality and skills to small business management and marketing
