This three-hour (moves to six hours in March 2012!) workshop is offered through the Small Business Development Center. Students will leave the workshop with important knowledge about how to market their websites, especially via the search engines. Students may then utilize the information directly or pass it along to their webmasters.
Workshop Description: This workshop covers details of the fundamental methods to get better results on the search engines. These include Key Word Research, Link Building, Optimization and Dynamic Content. In addition, strategies designed to market a website on non-search engine properties will be discussed. Webmasters will leave the workshop with effective ideas to market their sites. Site owners will leave the workshop with a thorough list of marketing ideas for their webmasters.
Two of my students made this great video that sums up the workshop very nicely. Thanks to Rick Bean and Sue Surdam from Artizon Digital for the great video!

Hi Rob,
I just want to reiterate to you that I thought your workshop was extremely valuable even though I had to leave early. I have already put what I learned to work in my work with clients and will be instituting many of the principles you taught into my own web site. I am very much looking forward to you next workshop.
Thanks so much,

Great class – an informative, step by step, down to earth, guide to optimization of your website.
Hi Rob,
Your class was so helpful. It was engaging, useful and even fun. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to understand everything given my lack of IT knowledge but you made everything presented easily understandable. I’m enjoying my work in updating my site and look forward to your next workshop. My only regret is that I didn’t contact you sooner!

This class on search engine optimization provided great information that anyone can apply to their website. Even though I am not the web designer for my site, I developed a “To-Do” list for my web developer. He seemed just as excited as I was! I am looking forward to see the increased search engine ranking as well as increased traffic to my website.
Hi Rob,
Thanks for the great class and conversation, my favorite new computer terms are “uber-geek moment” and “Ghostbuster icon”. Lots of fun and lots of info, I feel like I can really get a handle on the once-elusive art of SEO. Thanks!
